The NSA Easter Cruise will be April 7-9
The Easter Cruise this year takes us back to Bridgeton Harbor Marina, across the Neuse River from New Bern. This large and recently rebuilt full-service marina offers nice inside slips with new floating docks and an extensive face dock, all at $1.75 a foot, plus $7 a night for 50amp power (30amp boats will need a 50amp 125/250V Male to 30amp 125V Female adapter or splitter). Bridgeton has a large grassy area with grilling facilities, tables and chairs. You may want to bring your own chairs as well.
Important note: The NSA will provide a list of registered boats to the dockmaster. You DO NOT have to call the marina yourself to register. However, if you register but have to cancel, please let us know so we can provide an accurate list.
While Bridgeton is isolated, those wishing to visit New Bern can do so inexpensively using ride sharing, such as Uber. A few members are also coming by car. By dinghy, the distance across the river to the Union Point Park free dock is 1.4nm. For those who would prefer to anchor, space is available off the Bridgeton marina, with a small fee, $5, for dinghy tie-up and access to facilities. For those who prefer to be on the New Bern side, ample anchoring space is available off the channel near Union Point Park with access to the public docks for dinghy landing.
We will have an "adult" Easter Egg Hunt starting at 4pm on Saturday, followed by our Social at about 4:30. Bring a meat to grill, if you wish, and a side dish to share. In the event of rain, we have permission to move into the large warehouse building on the north side of the property.
